JOB DESCRIPTION

We are a caring, peaceful home for the elderly. With only eighty residents, the home is small enough for the staff to get to know everyone. The residents are valued as individuals and are encouraged to pursue their own interests or to take part in the many organised activities. The staff provide high quality nursing care. Being a member of Aged and Community Services Tasmania and our mission which is to provide quality aged care in a safe, homely and secure environment, while maintaining each resident’s individuality and independence. The most important aspect of our care to is to ensure we are able to care for each resident’s individual and varying needs – whether they require low or high levels of care, and at the level they want to participate. We are looking for someone that is available 70 to 80 hours per fortnight, can demonstrate high quality customer service through clear, thoughtful and responsive communication with consumers and colleagues. To apply for this position you must have Certificate 3 in Aged Care, Current Flu Vax & Documentation, Current National Police Check and over one years’ experience in Aged Care as an Extended Care Assistant. We are offering $23.52 per hour

You will be required to;

  • Be responsible for effective delivery of quality care to consumers
  • Report to immediate at commencement and completion of each shift
  • Act in a mentor capacity for newly employed Extended Care Assistants and Work Experience students
  • Use effectively the organisation’s equipment, resources, supplies & facilities that support delivery of programs
  • Engage in staff training, appraisals, feedback, team meetings & other activities contributing to the quality care of the consumers
  • Cooperate with and adhere to Workplace Health and Safety (WH & S) guidelines and take all reasonable care that their actions do not impact on the health, safety or wellbeing of others at the workplace
  • Participate in the Accreditation and Aged Care Standards Agency process
