About the role:
The Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital Emergency Department is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1 to assist the clinical leadership in identifying, implementing and monitoring models of care within the Emergency Department aimed to improve patient care of all patients presenting to the Emergency Department and identify, implement and monitor hospital avoidance models of care, approved by the relevant State and Local Health District speciality streams. This includes (but not limited to) the Aged Care Emergency (ACE) and chronic complex disease hospital preventative management networks.

This position is a maternity relief role for 12 months which is shared with another permanent part time employee, shifts are 7:30am - 4:00pm between Monday - Friday. The successful applicant will be supported in this role with a comprehensive orientation program with the current ACE CNC.

Where you'll be working:
Tamworth Hospital is a rural referral hospital (276 bed) with a 24-hour emergency department, high level surgical and medical services, including a diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization laboratory, intensive care, coronary care, rehabilitation services (including brain injury), Diabetes Centre, mental health unit, renal services, paediatrics, maternity, oncology, radiology and pathology. Our Emergency Department has around 90 nursing staff on a rotating roster.

Tamworth is the central hub of the New England North West with a population of just under 60,000 and is well known as the country music and equine capital of Australia. An agricultural area for lamb, wool, beef and various pastures, the temperate climate will allow you to experience all the seasons. About you:
You are a motivated Registered Nurse with demonstrated post registration experience and relevant qualifications. You have excellent communication and time management skills, interacting with all patients, families, carers and staff in a proffesional and personable manner.
