St George Hospital- Emergency Medicine Staff Specialist- Locum positition

An opportunity exists to join the St George Hospital Emergency Department Staff Specialist team as a locum from 1st February 2021 to 1st August 2021 to cover long service leave. This position may from time to time be required to fill shifts at rural partner Emergency Departments as required by the Department.

The St George Hospital is a principal teaching hospital of the University of New South Wales with a well established clinical school supporting the delivery of comprehensive healthcare, world-class research and undergraduate and postgraduate teaching of students and health professionals.

It is the designated major Trauma Centre for the SESLHD population with annual census of greater than 81000. This includes 22% paediatric presentations.

The Emergency Department as full accreditation by the ACEM for Emergency Medicine training. There is an active registrar training and research program in placewith an excellent record in primary and fellowship examinations, presentations at scientific meetings and publications.

SESLHD covers urban and suburban communities and manages eight public hospitals and one public nursing home:

• Calvary Healthcare Sydney (third schedule with Little Company of Mary Health Care)
• Prince of Wales Hospital
• Royal Hospital for Women
• St George Hospital
• Sutherland Hospital
• Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital
• War Memorial Hospital (third schedule with Uniting Care)
• Gower Wilson Memorial
• Garrawarra Centre

SESLHD also operates 28 Child and Family Health Centres, 12 Community Health Centres and nine Oral Health Clinics; providing prevention, early intervention and community-based treatment, palliative care and rehabilitation services.
Drug and Alcohol, Mental Health, Breast screening, HIV/AIDS, Public Health, Women's Health, Youth Health, Sexual Health, Imaging and Pathology services are provided at a number of facilities across SESLHD.
The primary location of this position may be varied as agreed with the Director of Clinical Services and as approved by MDAAC to other facilities in SESLHD.
