St John of God Healthcare at Home (HAH) offers a range of at home services including hospital substitution, acute and non-acute services to assist patients recover after a hospital stay. In providing a more integrated and holistic model of care that is both efficient and effective, home services is a key initiative of the SJGHC strategy.

We are seeking a Personal Care Worker to join our dedicated Healthcare at Home team located in Geelong.

Our Personal Care Workers provide personal care requirements to clients in their place of residence within the community. As a Personal Care Worker under the direction of the Registered Nurse, you will provide a range of personal care tasks based on assessed needs as determined by the care plan, which enables the recipients to maintain their desired standards of personal care and hygiene. This includes assisting with bathing, sponging or showering, assisting with toileting and mobility, such as getting out of bed, chair, commode or wheelchair and also assisting clients with self-monitoring of medication.

To be considered for this position it is essential to hold a CERT III in Home and Community Care, Aged Care, Disability or Individual Support.

This is a permanent part time position of 18 hours per fortnight.

The successful candidate will have:

• Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
• Ability to take direction and instruction from a Registered Nurse and to undertake delegated tasks safely, efficiently and in a customer friendly manner.
• Basic computer literacy and a willingness to develop this further.
• Possession of current First Aid Certificate Level 2.
• Current Driver’s Licence.
