A little bit about the role

The Active Ageing, Policy & Projects Coordinator leads the Active Ageing Policy & Projects team to identify, manage and strategically respond to the challenges presented in the older population of Boroondara.

This position is responsible for research, policy analysis, strategic planning, report writing and capacity building to ensure that Boroondara is well placed to meet the changing needs of older people.

Leading a small team of dedicated professionals, the position will be responsible for ensuring that Council has current and accurate information regarding Victorian and Australian government policy and position on ageing issues. This information will be used to develop, implement and review strategies, including the healthy ageing plan and associated actions.

A little bit about you

You have a tertiary qualification in a relevant field (i.e. Community Services, Aged Care, Health, or Community Development) coupled with experience in the community sector or Health, Active Ageing and Disability Service system.

You will have a comprehensive understanding of the complexities associated with Active Ageing or the community sector, and associated policies, procedures and strategic directions of the Victorian and Australian Governments.

You will bring with you well-developed analytical, strategic planning, policy development, report writing and financial management skills along with demonstrated experience and ability to develop innovative, efficient and effective strategic solutions to issues, particularly in the digital space.
