Salary: $131,542.17 - 133,853.69 per annum

Position Summary:
A vacancy exists at St Joseph's Hospital a highly motivated Nurse Manager with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. This position forms a key part of the Integrated Care Stream and works in partnership with the Nursing and Operations Manager at St Joseph’s Hospital and the Sub-Acute, Ambulatory Care and Community Stream Manager (Network role), under the leadership and direction of the Director for Integrated care. The Nurse Manager in collaboration with the Nursing Unit Managers will ensure consistency of unit management by having oversight of nurse staffing and other resource requirements for patient care, ensuring these are met within the allocated budget. The position is responsible for the the leadership of the Nurse Unit Managers, Clinical Nurse Consultants, Casual Pool Nursing team and After Hours Nurse Managers. The position will continue to embed a positive culture by promoting continuous quality improvement and ensure frameworks are in place to monitor and improve systems and processes leading to a high standard of safe and effective patient care. This Position will also deliver sound financial, administrative, operational and human resource management for nursing staff at St Joseph's Hospital.

Selection Criteria

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia

  • Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

  • Recognised post graduate tertiary qualification in a clinical specialty or management (or willingness to undertake same within 12 months) or equivalent relevant experience

  • Demonstrated operational, financial, human resource, workplace health and safety and effective communication / interpersonal skills experience at departmental level

  • Comprehensive understanding of clinical governance and current nursing issues

  • Ability to deliver, evidenced based, patient centred care within a complex environment

  • Demonstrated experience in quality improvement principles, clinical policy and procedure development and change management

  • Computer literacy in MS Word/Excel, Email and an electronic medical record / referral system
