The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists to join the nursing clinical resources / clinical support team. The role will assist ward areas with nurse escort and other nursing care requirements under the direction of the Clinical Resources Manager, NUM’s and ADON. Primary role is escorting acutely ill patients to and from procedures plus support of ward areas and clinical support unit.

This is a permanent full time position where successful candidate must possess the following:

  • Authority to practice nursing with AHPRA as Registered Nurse.
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrate experience working in the ward areas.
  • Strong commitment to a continuous improvement philosophy.
  • Experience relevant to ward areas and transport– e.g. cardiac monitoring, tracheostomy suctioning, post procedure care.
  • Willing to undertake professional development for role eg ALS course and Tracheostomy care accreditation (avail internally at St Vincents).
  • Demonstrated problem solving and time management skills.
  • Commitment to continued professional development.
  • Fulfil requirements according to NSW Health Policy Directive Occupational Assessment Screening & Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases PD2007_006 and PD2011_005.
  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of the Mary Aikenhead Ministries.

Essential requirements

  • In accordance to guidelines set by NSW Health, all SVPHS employees are required to have up to date vaccinations before commencement. It is encouraged that you ensure your vaccinations are current ahead of time as you may be requested to provide documentation at interview stage.
  • Criminal record checks will be conducted and will form part of the selection criteria for this role.
