Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a national organisation specialising in providing recruitment services to the health and care industry throughout Australia. HCA Community Care division focuses on providing experienced workers to support Adults and Children in a community setting.

The Role - Residential Youth Workers
Working with young people in a variety of settings including Residential and Community Engagement, while also supplying some High Care Support to complex needs. 
Houses are in various locations in Ipswich & surrounding regions. Duties may include, though not limited to:

  • Behaviour management support including restrictive practices
  • Medication assistance
  • Daily living assistance including meal preparation, cleaning
  • Personal care, prompting and assistance
  • Community Access and transportation
Mandatory Requirements:
  • Minimum 12 months Paid experience working in a similar role
  • Hold or be studying towards a Cert IV or higher in a related field
  • Hold a current LCS clearance (Licensing of Care Services Clearance)
  • Hold or willing to obtain a QLD WWCC (Blue Card)
  • Either a current Yellow (Positive Notice card) or willing to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Paid Card).
  • Completed or willing to complete mandatory Hope and Healing Modules
  • Flexible availability - Able to cover AM/PM, Sleepovers, Weekend shifts as required
  • Willing to travel for long and short shifts in the area
  • First Aid Certificate issued within the last 3 years (or willing to obtain)
  • CPR Certificate issued within the last 12 months (or willing to obtain)
  • Evidence of work rights (e.g. Passport or Birth Certificate or Citizenship Certificate - Certified)
  • Unrestricted QLD Driver Licence
  • Comprehensively insured vehicle that can be used for work purposes
  • Smartphone(iOS or Android)
Highly regarded skills and experience:
  • Experience supporting complex and challenging behaviours including verbal/physical aggression, property damage and self-harm
  • Experience and training in complex supports such as PEG feeding/management, Epilepsy, Manual Handling (hoisting), BGL's.
  • MAYBO or other Behaviour support Training is highly regarded
