The Role

The Allied Health Assistant (AHA) is accountable to the relevant Occupational Therapist for provision of assistance with patient care as directed, in order to arrange safe and timely discharge, improved independence and occupational outcomes. Ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning of clinical areas and equipment, and undertaking administrative support as required.

To be successful in the role you will demonstrate aptitude for work in a healthcare environment, communicating with all staff and the public including the ability to be courteous and respectful, and to empathise with and motivate people. Having the ability to observe and report back to supervising therapist on patient behaviour and progress in therapy sessions, you will follow direction and complete tasks as directed by supervisors. You will respect patient privacy and confidentiality, whilst having the ability to work flexibly and adapt to different patient and staff needs. Working as a member of a team, you will possess a level of fitness commensurate with the duties, particularly with regard to lifting capacity.

You must hold or be undertaking a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent.

This is a part time vacancy working on Saturdays, working 15 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
