Where you will be working

Lake Cargelligo Multipurpose Service is a small regional facility providing emergency, acute and residential aged care services. Of the 22 beds, 16 are residential aged care beds. A range of community nursing and allied health services are also available to residents. The Multipurpose Service has wonderful staff accommodation, either onsite or across the road from the facility.

About the Opportunity
  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), with demonstrated evidence to meet the NMBA's Enrolled Nurse standards for practice and meet the NMBA approved standards, codes, guidelines and frameworks commensurate with the position.
  • Demonstrates continuous quality improvement with the ability to provide: direct/indirect care including ability to assess; plan, implement and evaluate nursing practice; provide safe, appropriate and responsive quality nursing practice.
  • Demonstrated competencies in and/or knowledge of the complexities and challenges involved in caring for individuals and their family in the specific area of employment to an EN Scope of Practice.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the need for therapeutic and professional relationships, communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team in a rural health setting.
  • Reflective and analytical nursing practice with a willingness embrace change responsible for the delegated care they provide and self-monitor their work.
  • Demonstrated commitment to own professional development to maintain, improve and broaden knowledge, expertise and competence, capability and develop the personal and professional qualities required through the use of evidence based practice reflecting contemporary matters.
  • Demonstrates commitment to a person-centred approach working in partnership with individuals and families to ensure consumer participation in decision making about care and the delivery of care.
  • Evidence of a current Class C drivers licence and ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve driving long distances with the MLHD.
