Blue Care is inviting applications from competent Hospitality Professionals to join our Redcliffe residential team.

This is a great opportunity for Cooks/ Kitchen Hands with proven commercial cooking experience aiming to restore their work life balance and gain employment in one of Australia’s leading not for profit organisations.

The Ideal candidate will possess strong working knowledge of the hospitality industry, including proven experience in safe food preparation, storage and delivery, in addition, to a clear understanding of WHS and a keen eye for cleaning detail.

You will be driven, possess leadership qualities and take pride in your presentation. You’ll be knowledgeable in relation to nutrition and have a keen interest on the impact of dietary requirements on our aged residents. As part of your role you’ll:
  • Prepare, cook and deliver food in adherence with Australian food safety standards and dietary requirements of our elderly residents
  • Be willing to support senior hospitality staff members with daily operations which may include housekeeping and laundry services
  • Be required to uphold impeccable hygiene standards
What you’ll need:
You’ll have proven experience in safe food preparation, storage and delivery, a clear understanding of WHS and be confident in medium-high volume meal preparation. You’ll demonstrate:
  • Enthusiasm and strong self-motivation
  • Great communication skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Good understanding of Australian food and beverage standards
  • Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies.
Previous exposure to nutrition and dietary requirement for the aged is desirable, but not essential

Selection Criteria Essential: Do you have knowledge and/or experience in hospitality services, preferably in aged care or disability?
Desirable: Do you have full Australian working entitlements as an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident OR New Zealand Citizen?
Desirable: If you don't have full working entitlements, do you have a current working Visa? Please list your visa, for example: Bridging Visa, Regional Sponsorship Visa etc.
Essential: Can you supply evidence of an up-to-date influenza vaccination in accordance with the current Public Health Directive for Aged Care Facilities?
Desirable: Do you believe you have excellent attention to detail across all areas of hospitality?
