Opportunity to join a growing commercial builder in their Geelong office. Experience within commercial estimating required, ideally head contracting

The Company

This Estimator job opportunity is within a well-respected, medium sized, tier 2 commercial contractor who turn-over more than $100 M annually across their Melbourne and Geelong business, and deliver a range of project types and sizes between $2M and $30 million.

Their project capability covers:

• Age Care
• Fit-out
• Industrial
• Commercial builds
• Local government/council builds (libraries, schools, Govt. buildings etc.)

The Role

Being a Senior Estimator, you will be a capable, driven and well experienced construction professional with experience tendering and accurately winning construction projects in this commercial construction space. As you will likely expect, you will be expected to:

• Prepare Design & Construct tenders.
• Measure and price builder’s quantities
• Manage tender process and documentation
• Source Sub-Contractor and Supplier quotes and prices
• Train, develop and mentor junior estimators and cadets
• Being able to generate new business and expand client base
• To actively promote the company and maintain existing client relationships by regularly liaising with clients and conducting follow-ups.
• Prepare accurate tenders, quotes and budgets

The Necessary experience

The opportunity is open to either a junior or senior level Estimator - someone with the following experiences are sought

• Quantity Surveying or Construction Estimating background with appropriate degree
• Have operated some experience as an Estimator within the commercial construction industry
• Experience with a range of Software packages relevant to estimating
• Excellent ability to interpret plans and specifications
• Have tendered and won commercial construction projects from $3 million and above
