Senior Human Resource Officer

Fixed Term 22/03/2021 - 13/03/2022

Colac Area Health's Human Resource (HR) team is looking for a Senior HR Officer who will be responsible for the development and maintenance of policies, procedures and resources to support best practice people management; the design and implementation of the People Strategy; and the provision of professional advice on Award, legislative, industrial and organisational development matters. This role will work collaboratively across the organisation and provide coaching and mentoring to Managers and Directors.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake a Victorian Police Check and complete a Statutory Declaration as per the Aged Care Principles prior to commencement of employment. Some positions will also require a WWC Check.

Selection Criteria Essential: Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management or other appropriate disciplines, with post-graduate qualification desirable.
Essential: Minimum of five (5) years experience in Human Resources Management with experience at a senior management level.
Essential: Commitment to on-going education and professional development.
Essential: Ability to relate to, and negotiate with, a wide range of individuals and groups.
Essential: Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
Essential: Well developed time management and organisational skills.
Essential: Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, Awards, Enterprise Agreements and contemporary Human Resources practice.
Essential: Ability to work in a changing environment and demonstrate flexibility and problem-solving skills.
Essential: Experience in developing the capability of staff and managers, both within HR and the broader organisation.
Desirable: Certification in Investigations and/or mediation.
Desirable: Experience within the public healthcare sector.
