Our fully trained, experienced and professional staff provide high quality therapeutic services to people living in the community, retirement living villages and in low care aged care homes.
About the role
We are now seeking an enthusiastic Therapy Assistant to join our team at Regis Tiwi Day Therapy Centre on a full time basis working 38 hours per week. The Therapy Assistant ensures the delivery of skilled individualised and group care to assist Regis clients to optimise their independence and promote their physical and mental well being.
Key responsibilities
Deliver designed care plans ( both individual and exercise classes) under the supervision of our Registered Therapists.
Build highly supportive relationships with our clients that promote their preferences, needs, choices and abilities.
Engage and motivate our clients to participate in exercise programs using a wellness and reablement approach
Build positive relationships with family, referrers and colleagues
Be responsive to needs, concerns and suggestions made by our clients and their family, ensuring that these are reported in a timely and appropriate manner
Document session outcomes by maintaining up to date and accurate client records, session evaluations and feedback to our Registered Therapists
Contributing to the development of innovative therapy programs to improve the wellbeing of our clients
Provide administration support to the team
To be successful in this role, you have
Demonstrated previous experience working in a similar role within a multidisciplinary community setting
Ability to work as a team player with excellent communication skills
Sound knowledge of contemporary aged care wellness and reablement programs and the importance of movement, meaningful activity and social connection for older people
The ability to thrive in a busy and energetic program while being creative and able to plan and adapt as required
Strong organisational, problem solving and time management skills
Competency in the use of Word, Excel and digital client management systems such as scheduling and client records.
A genuine interest and passion for working with older people
Mandatory requirements for all candidates
Certificate IV in Aged Care or equivalent
Valid First Aid Certificate
Valid National Police check
A current driver’s license with clear driving record
Proof of the right to work lawfully in Australia
Evidence that you have had the 2020 Flu Vaccination or willingness to complete this before employment can be offered*
