We currently have an exciting employment opportunity for a passionate and experienced Lifestyle Assistant to join our high performing team at our magnificent heritage listed “Tara” mansion in the heart of Camberwell.
This position is permanent part time for 16 hours per fortnight (PM shift 13:00 – 17:00 Monday & Tuesday). Successful candidate must be flexible and able to work up to 76 hours per fortnight to cover staff on annual leave.
The primary responsibilities of the position include:
- Assist with the provision of recreational and social programs that enhance the wellbeing of our residents
- Support the Community Engagement Coordinator in the orientation of new team members
- Assist each resident individually in accordance with the lifestyle plan document and ensure information is recorded accurately
- Ensure all programs meet accreditation standards and resident needs
- Demonstrate an understanding of the cognitive, social and spiritual needs of our residents and their families
- Engage our residents and encourage them to be part of their local community
- Assist with meaningful and enriching activities that provide choice to each individual
To be successful in this position, you will be:
- Formally qualified in Community Development, Recreation or Disability Studies (i.e. Certificate IV in Lifestyle and Leisure)
- Experienced in providing recreational and social programs in aged care facilities or a similar setting (highly regarded)
- Proficient to work autonomously and within a team environment
- Empathetic and can build strong connections with residents and their loved ones
- Honest, helpful and dependable

Please note, Benetas rosters according to operational requirements, which may include shifts up to 10 hours in length.
