About Central Gippsland Health

Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire.

CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.

CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield).

Acute services include a full time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit and oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation. We offer a range of clinical and non-clinical roles in nursing, medical, allied health, community care, administration and pharmacy just to name a few.

CGH is also a teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.

About the Role

Applications are being sought for a speech pathologist to join our team for a full time Grade 1 position. The speech pathology team consists of 7 speech pathologists and 2 allied health assistants and sits within a larger Allied Health team at Central Gippsland Health.

The speech pathology service at CGH provides a wide range of services, including Early Childhood Intervention, acute inpatients and rehabilitation, Aged Care, NDIS, Speech Pathology in Schools and School Readiness funded projects, in addition to home and community care, community women’s health and specialist outpatients clinics. The caseload on offer is a mix of Adult (acute, outpatient and aged Care) and Paediatric outpatient work.

The applicant would join an experienced team, who can provide leadership, guidance and support to assist the applicant to develop their skills as needed. New graduates welcome to apply.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Degree qualification or equivalent in Speech Pathology
  • Eligible for membership of Speech Pathology Australia
  • Victorian drivers license
  • Current clear Police Check and Working with Children Check
  • Experience working as a speech pathologist
  • Excellent Communication skills
