About the Business
Australian Regional and Remote Community Services (ARRCS) is a not-for-profit aged care and community service provider that was established in July 2014 to operate residential care facilities and community care programs in the Northern Territory. The services were previously managed by Frontier Services.
ARRCS is a service group of Uniting Care Queensland - the health and community service provider of the Uniting Church, and is supported by Blue Care - also part of Uniting Care Queensland and one of Australia's leading residential and community aged care providers in Australia.
About the Role
This is a truly unique opportunity to live and work in a remote location. Kaltukatjara is a remote Indigenous community located over 230km’s (roughly a 4 hour drive) from Yulara, the closest town, 700km’s from Alice Springs and 8km’s from the WA Border. The population is around 380 people. Tjilipi Pampaku Ngura Flexible Care (meaning ‘old man, old lady home) houses 19 residents.
Aboriginal Liaison Officer’s (ALO) provide emotional, social and cultural support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents and their families when they use the Aged Care Services within our Docker River region. When Indigenous people move into Aged Care it can be a worrying time, with feelings of fear, sadness, home sickness and isolation; to which the ALO is pivotal to supporting the needs of our residents.

Skills & Experience
Must have a current National Police Check, First Aid Certificate, OCHRE card and NT Drivers’ License or a willingness to obtain prior to commencing
Have worked in a similar role for a Not for Profit or Non-Government Organisation
Demonstrated ability working with multiple language and cultural groups within the Alice Springs Region
Ability to interpret community needs and communicate these back with an operational focus in mind
Experience with Community Engagement at an Internal and External Stakeholder setting
Certificate III in Community Services CHC32015 (Or other related Allied Health discipline)
