The Opportunity
Welfare Recruitment Solutions have been approached by a leading community provider to assist in the recruitment of a Community Participation Coordinator on a full-time basis. Through the support of government funding, our client has established home care support services covering the ACT and Queanbeyan region specifically working with CALD communities.

The Position
Your role will be to engage with CALD communities to support access to community aged care programs, develop and coordinate social programs that address wellbeing, inclusion activities and community participation as well as leading a small team of support facilitators and volunteers to implement regular social support group programs for older persons in the ACT community.

The Person

To be considered for this position you will need to bring:
Your positive “can do” attitude with a real passion around connecting people in your community
Natural leadership style in guiding the success of their wellbeing and community programs and managing a small team of staff and volunteers
Co-ordination skills and the ability to think strategically in developing group programs into the future based on services meeting community needs.
Experience working with older persons in community-based engagement programs would be ideal, however, if you have worked in disabilities, social work, sports participation or other engagement community programs that include CALD persons then we would love to hear from you.
Full drivers’ license and own vehicle and willingness to travel to different locations around Canberra and Queanbeyan. Reimbursement of travel costs is provided or alternatively the use of a company car is available.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in connecting older persons in your local community. You will be offered a base salary based on the SCHADS Award level 5 $41.89 - $43.70 working 35hrs per week with flexibility around hours.
