Roster Coordinator - Fulltime

My Holistic Care has provided in-home care, support and nursing services for nearly 4 years. We deliver services for people through the NDIS (disability support), My Aged Care (Home Care Packages) and WorkSafe. We work across Metro Melbourne, Greater Geelong and the Mornington Peninsula. We have experienced significant growth in recent years and are seeking a passionate individual to join our organisation.

Position Summary

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced roster coordinator to join our team. You will be working in collaboration with our existing roster coordinator to allocate our most critical resource, our people.

As Roster Coordinator you must demonstrate strong organisational and time management skills as well as an eye for detail and ability to work under pressure. Our roster coordinators must work together to fill a range of weekday, evening and weekend shifts across a diverse range of services including supported independent living, short term accommodation, community and in home support and centre based support. Shifts must be filled in accordance with client needs and choice as well as industrial relations requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the rosters for service delivery teams that are compliant with legislative requirements, staff availability, client needs and allocated budgets.
  • Arrange replacement staff to cover sick and annual leave, and other planned/unplanned absences, manage shift changes and absenteeism.
  • Maintain positive relationships with staff, clients and stakeholders and effectively manages these.

Key Selection Criteria

  • To succeed in this role you will need to:
  • High level of experience in rostering and coordinating a large number of people, preferably in a disability or human services environment
  • Demonstrated ability in completing tasks that require attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete complex tasks with a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to prioritise and complete work within established deadlines
  • A proactive approach to problem solving
  • Understanding of Industrial relations legislation and how it applies in a rostering context.
  • Ability to read and interpret Industrial awards and agreements.
  • Be proficient in the use of IT
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders and experience in working collaboratively as a productive team member who seeks and provides feedback and solutions.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment with time pressures whilst managing multiple tasks.

Preferred criteria

  • Two years plus experience in rostering at a previous disability or human services organisation
  • Knowledge of or experience in the disability and Aged Care community sector
  • Experience working with Industrial agreements and awards.
  • Analytical Thinking and Data Analysis expertise.
