- Full-time temporary position from 4/8/21 up to 6/2/2022
Accredited for two core years of advance training in geriatric medicine, rotations could include experience in Acute Aged Care, Inpatient Geriatric Evaluation and Management, Orthogeriatric Medicine, Acute Medical Unit Liaison Service, Hospital Consultation Service, Rural Geriatric Evaluation and Management, Inpatient Psychogeriatric Medicine, Outpatients (including falls, movement disorder and cognitive clinics), community outreach services and Transition Care Program.
A multi-faceted role where you will gain a diverse range of experience, you will be responsible for managing the care of all patients allocated to current department in consultation with the responsible Registrars, Consultants, Nurses and Allied Health professionals. Able to function effectively within a fast paced environment, you will maintain a high standard of patient care for inpatients and outpatients, and provide an effective and accurate clinical handover of patient care at the change of daily shifts and at the change of a clinical attachment. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to continuous quality improvement and education activities, participating in the department's CME, research and teaching program.
A team player who can operate effectively as part of a team or individually, you will demonstrate competency in a range of routine and common procedural ward-based skills. You will possess high level skills in negotiation and communication, exhibiting the ability to display genuine empathy for patients and their relatives and family. Able to work under pressure without compromising patient care, you will have proven skills in problem solving and decision making at both the clinical and the individual level.
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and compliant Immunisation screening
