An exciting opportunity exists to join the Child & Family Allied Health team at Port Kembla Hospital. This is a temporary full-time opportunity until 10 October 2021 with the possibility of an extension. This position may be required to work a 7 day rotating roster and may include weekend work. What you'll be doing:

The Senior Ocupational Therapist Level 3 (Child & Family Services) is responsible for the planning, coordinating and implementing high levels of clinical expertise and specialised knowledge in order to provide high quality paediatric occupational therapy services.

Where you’ll be working

Port Kembla Hospital is a specialist referral hospital for Rehabilitation, Aged Care and Palliative Care which provides care to almost eight thousand patients every year. Port Kembla provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community services as well as an occupational rehabilitation unit. Other services based at Port Kembla include a Sexual Health Clinic, Drug & Alcohol service, Illawarra Brain Injury Service (IBIS), Health Care Interpreter Service and the Hillview Childcare Service.

Selection Criteria:

  • Current registration to practice as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board, AHPRA.
  • Current class C NSW drivers licence or equivalent.
  • Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including collaborative stakeholder consultation.
  • Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills in an environment of competing clinical/administrative demands.
  • Extensive post graduate experience providing an advanced standard of evidence based occupational therapy assessment and intervention for children with complex needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently problem-solve, and set priorities in complex situations.
  • Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes with other staff.
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision, mentoring and development of junior staff and students.
