The Role:

We have an exciting fixed term opportunity for a Policy and Procedure Writer to support our business, to streamline and refresh the approach to controlled documents. This role will play an integral part in a phased approach to the Policy and Procedure Framework Refresh Project designed for continuous improvement and contemporary policy and procedure practice in Residential Services and Community, Health and Care, and aligned with Benetas’ strategic direction and goals.

As a Policy and Procedure Writer you will take the lead as an advisory expert and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to effectively review, reframe, consolidate, update and implement innovative and workable policies, procedures, guidelines and documents, as required by the strategic, quality and continuous improvement agenda of Benetas.

This position will have an initial primary focus on Residential Services, followed by Community Health and Care and ensure they reflect contemporary research and practice and are aligned with the Aged Care Standards, legislation and our audit tools.

You will also support alignment with our Clinical Governance and Quality Framework in the completion of the documents and in the communication plans associated with the re-introduction of the updated documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Map Benetas Operational policies, procedures, and work instructions and identify any system gaps
  • Develop a program plan that includes mapping gaps in documents against risk mitigation and planning for completion accordingly
  • Undertake consultations with relevant stakeholders in supporting the development of policies, procedures and work instructions as required
  • Complete the required scope of works on schedule
  • Assist in the communication of changes to policy, procedures, work instructions or practice as may be required
  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of the project in achieving intended aims

To be successful, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field, e.g. Registered Nurse, Educator, Bachelor of Education/Teaching
  • Experience in policy development, policy and procedure writing and the process mapping
  • Ability to produce well-structured, simple policies and procedures using different information types/styles to meet audience needs
  • Project coordination skills and the ability to write and implement project plans
  • Proficiency with IT systems
  • Working knowledge of legislation and standards that relate to Residential Aged Care and/or Community Health and Care highly desirable
  • Strong (internal) customer service & stakeholder engagement skills
