Perinatal Mental Health Clinician

  • We are seeking an energetic and experienced psychiatric clinician to fill this newly created role making a difference to Mums and Bubs and their carers
  • Part Time Fixed Term opportunity working 40 hours/fortnight, until April 2022

Your new team

  • The Northern Area Mental Health Service is an integrated network of mental health services providing psychiatric services to residents in the Cities of Darebin and Whittlesea.
  • Services include Acute In-patient Unit, Emergency Mental Health Service, Continuing Care Teams, Community Care Units and PARC.
  • Be immersed within the growing Northern Suburbs family focussed lifestyle
  • Supportive, dynamic small multidisciplinary team who are passionate about their work making a difference to Mums and Bubs and their carers

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to

  • Provide specialist consultations, assessments and appropriate evidence-based perinatal interventions
  • Engage women to support, promote and maximise participation in their, and their children/families, and carers collaborative recovery and wellness planning
  • Support service performance and care standards within the Perinatal Mental Health Program
  • Be a key expert resource and clinical advisor to staff within the Area Mental Health Service
  • Work effectively with key partners that maintain, grow relationships and actively encourage flow of ideas

Your Contribution

  • Appropriately qualified and registered Grade 4 Psychiatric Nurse or Grade 3 Pyschiatrist, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker
  • Demonstrated experience in Perinatal Mental Health
  • A desire to work in concert with hospital and community-based maternity and Child and Maternal Health services
  • Demonstrated ability to work with clinically diverse and demographically complex clinical presentations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
