Monash Health is seeking a Paediatric Psychologist For Child and Family Program Monash Health community.

  • Part Time 16 hours per week

Child and Family Program

The Child and Family Program including Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies (HMHB) is comprised of numerous disciplines that focus on assessment and Child and Family focused care. The program consists of Counsellors, Occupational Therapists , Speech Pathologists, Dieticians, Podiatrists,Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Community Development Workers and Family Support Workers. The team is committed to working with communities, families and individuals who have poor health outcomes and to providing high quality, multidisciplinary programs which embrace child and family centred

About The Role

The incumbent will provide Child psychology/ counselling services, maintain an active case-load and deliver a front-line counselling service response to the client group. Further, the incumbent will, as a member of the Child and Family Team commit to providing high quality, integrated Psychology and counselling services, including assessment and treatment, to children and their families living in the City of Greater Dandenong, City of Casey and the Shire of Cardinia. The main focus of the position is to provide evidence-based, best practice assessments and interventions for a diverse range of issues experienced by consumers in the service.

As would be expected of all employees, the incumbent will be seen to positively contribute to the functioning of the team, to support innovation and contribute to the ongoing development of the service. The incumbent will be committed to the successful realization of the Monash Health Community model of care as well as Monash Health goals and values.

In addition, the role requires excellent administrative, IT skills, organizational and communication skills. The incumbent will need ability to work independently and a willingness to work across Community Services sites as well as in an outreach capacity. The incumbent need to demonstrate a commitment to improving the way health services are delivered for patients. This position will work across multiple sites as service requires.

The Grade 2 psychologist is expected to provide evidenced based, best practice specialist psychological clinical services to children and their families. The incumbent is expected to assist in the provision of developmental activities such as mentoring students, training, implementing research or pilot projects associated with service development within child and family Program. This may include data collection and analysis and quality improvement activities within their program and for the profession of psychology across Monash Health, as commensurate to level of experience.

This position is operationally directly accountable to the Program Manager, and is professionally accountable to the Psychology Discipline Senior, Monash Health Community.

This is a part time ongoing role, working across sites when needed within the Child and Family Program

What You Need:
  • Current full general registration as a psychologist through Australian Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Appropriate post-graduate qualifications (Masters or Doctoral Degree) in counselling.
  • As we support a culture of safety through employee immunisation, there must be documentation provided confirming completed immunisation on employment at Monash Health
  • Current and satisfactory Police Check (must also comply with Aged Care Act 1997 Accountability Amendment Principles 2012 if working in Aged Care setting)
  • Current and satisfactory Working with Children Check.
  • Applicants who are new to Monash Health will be required to enter into an Employment Agreement before commencement
  • Applicants who are new to Monash Health must provide evidence of immunisation before they can receive an offer of employment
