Your new team

  • We are a diverse multi-disciplinary team working together that are welcoming and supportive of new staff

  • We enjoy a collaborative working environment working alongside Community Health, Family Services and Drug and Alcohol workers at a purpose built health centre

  • You will help us achieve the delivery of innovative and recovery orientated mental health care to those living in one of the fastest growing growth corridors in the state with complex mental illnesses

  • In return, you will be supported to expand your community mental health skills within an integrated model managing a caseload and working across intake and acute care functions

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to

  • Display demonstrated skills in the principles and practice of working with people presenting mental health issues

  •  Provide recovery oriented assessment and interventions in collaboration with consumers/ carers/families.

  • Assist in the provision of primary, secondary and tertiary consultation services, community development and education, liaison and linkage to other agencies that also provide support to people with mental illnesses as required.

  • Ensure all client centred activities are accurately documented in the appropriate format within the clinical patient file in a timely manner.

  • Work in collaboration with your multi-disciplinary mental health team

  • Complete occupational therapy assessment and intervention in practice areas including sensory modulation, group work, vocation and driving

Your Contribution

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with consumers, families/carers, colleagues and other service providers

  • Knowledge of relevant evidence based treatment models and interventions for high and low prevalence psychiatric illnesses

  • Capacity to undertake alcohol and other drug screening, assessment, treatment planning, brief interventions with clients who have co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
