‘RMH COVID-19 Screening Health Assistant in Nursing’



  • Welcome all staff, patients, consumers and visitors to the RMH hospital and provide guidance to navigate the Entry Screening process in a safe and coordinated way


  • Screen and test staff and community presenting to the COVID-19 Screening Clinics

  • Full and Part Time Fixed Term position available, based at RMH City Campus

Your new team



  • Join the ‘front of house’ team, leading kindness and working together to create a welcoming environment through application of the RMH values of People First, Excellence Together and People First.

  • You will help us adapt and respond to the presence of COVID-19 in the community and keep our patients and staff safe

  • In return, you will be supported to maintain your safety and the safety of others




Your success in this role, will be in your ability to



  • Screen all presentations for COVID-19 as per the latest DHHS testing criteria, ensuring health and temperature checks are documented

  • Participate and cooperate in consultative process to improve the health and safety and reduce risk to the safety and well-being of staff

  • Handle consumer complaints through the appropriate escalation points

  • Maintain an understanding of individual responsibility for patient safety, quality and risk and contribute to organizational quality and safety initiatives


Your Contribution



  • Certificate III in Health Services Assistance; or Certificate III in Aged Care

  • Previous experience working in the healthcare setting

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with other staff, patients and their families

  • It is desirable that you have completed Units for assisting in nursing work in the acute care environment (HLTAIN301C and HLTAIN302C)
