Our client is a vibrant, innovative and progressive organisation which exists to support people with a disability to live enriched lives of their choosing. They provide disability support, housing and employment to over 1750 people with a disability.

About the role:
Our client require an Occupational Therapist Full time/ part time vacancy based in SA. The successful applicant will be expected to: 

  • Respond in a timely manner to all allocated referrals and work within a multi-disciplinary and trans-disciplinary framework.
  • Assess and prescribe appropriate assistive technology and home modifications that enables people with disability to actively participate in their daily occupations
  • Undertake occupational therapy assessment, intervention and evaluation, providing recommendations that impact positively on a person’s engagement, functional independence, safety and participation in their daily occupations within relevant environments.
  • Safety, comfort and individual choice is considered and implemented as part of quality service delivery.
  • Participate in and comply with continuous improvement and quality assurance tasks including relevant legislation (i.e. NDIS Quality & Safeguard, OHS, Aged Care Act).
  • Actively promote Occupational Therapy within the disability setting, both within the organisation and externally.
  • Ensure adherence to the Occupational Therapy board of Australia registration standards, codes and guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Practice Standards.

Criteria for the Role: 

Essential:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent.
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check.\
Desirable:
  • Senior First Aid Certificate.
  • Post graduate studies in any relevant discipline.
