About Orthopaedic Services at Dandenong Hospital 

South West 3 (SW3) is a 36-bed unit that provides holistic care to elective and emergency trauma to Orthopaedic patients. Patients are admitted to SW3 with a wide variety of orthopaedic and acute medical/surgical problems who can be discharged to a variety of settings including home, rehabilitation, other health care services and aged care services. We pride ourselves on the delivery of high-quality care and strive for positive outcomes and experiences for our patients and staff. This is a fast-paced work environment that provides opportunities and challenges for staff.

We are a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team environment who work closely together to care for patients along with providing opportunity for staff development and growth in areas that staff are passionate about.

About The Role

We are currently seeking applicants for the position of Associate Nurse Manager in a full time Ongoing capacity (part time may be considered) who wish to progress their nursing career in leadership and mentoring as well as enhancing their clinical knowledge. 

Working across a 24/7 rotating roster including morning, afternoon and night shift we are looking for your flexibility within this role.

You will work in supporting the Nurse Manager to ensure the provision of safe and effective care as well as assist with the efficient management of the ward on a shift basis.

Having developed your management and leadership skills you are an experienced Associate Nurse Manager; ready to take this next step in your Career. You thrive working in a dynamic, fast paced environment and are truly passionate about delivering a high standard of evidence based nursing care to all patients. With your ‘can do’ attitude, you are proactive and have exceptional time management and critical analysis skills. As an enthusiastic and accomplished nurse with excellent clinical skills combined with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, you are a committed team player who supports team work and ongoing professional development aligned to Monash Health values and vision. 

You have demonstrated the ability to lead your colleagues by example, provide coaching and support to nursing colleges and other staff. You are passionate about mentoring and growing others and are committed to being an advocate for patients and their families. 

You expect a very high standard of care to be delivered to patients and support your team to deliver upon this ensuring accountability is maintained. You understand the importance of discharge planning and maintaining patient flow to support all areas within the hospital. You thrive in a supportive learning environment, are innovative, seeking to undertake portfolio work and other non-clinical responsibilities to contribute to the overall running and continued improvement of the ward.

What You Need:

  • Demonstrated experience in Clinical Leadership/Management teamed with considerable experience in Nursing
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Australian working rights
  • Willingness to take on a portfolio(s) contributing to ward quality improvements & National Standards
