Respiratory Protection Program Manager

The Respiratory Protection Program Manager is part of the Work Health and Safety Team who provide essential health and safety oversight to health services and aged care. The role will work closely with Health Services.

  • This is a 0.8 EFT 12 month position.
  • The role will be located across Mercy Health Services at our Werribee Mercy Hospital and Mercy Hospital for Women (Heidelberg) Travel to other locations may be required
  • The role will be responsible for developing and implementing an effective respiratory protection program, with an emphasis on preventing the transmission of aerosol transmissible diseases (ATDs) to healthcare personnel
  • The role will be key in writing policies, procedures and related documentation to ensure there are systems for respiratory protection and for respiratory protective equipment (RPE)
  • The role will also coordinate fit testing and fit checking processes including the conduct fit testing of staff and providing education and training us use, storage and disposal


  • You will have a qualification in occupational hygiene or associated discipline
  • You will have experience in developing and implementing staff protection programs
  • You will have knowledge and experience in infection control principles
  • You will have a high standard of written and verbal communication skills
