The Opportunity

  • Are you a highly motivated and experienced Nurse Practitioner with a strong interest in orthopaedics?
  • Are you looking to play a critical role in developing a holistic patient experience that is tailored to the individual’s needs?
  • Do you have the skills and experience to lead the delivery of innovative patient and clinical pathways, whilst working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team of orthopaedic and medical specialists, nursing and allied health practitioners?

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney is expanding its orthopaedic and rehabilitation services and actively seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to lead and maximise the patient engagement and experience from pre-admission through to post-discharge.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Act as a central point of contact for patients and their families/carers throughout their journey.
  • Support our surgeons and clinical teams through strong leadership and direction.
  • Provide leadership and expertise to guide the team with appropriate clinical pathways to support optimal outcomes and recovery based on research and best practice.
  • Utilise models of care that are appropriate, timely and of a high quality to manage and care for patients
  • Ensure the patient and carer are the focus of the patient journey
  • Build on the current continuous improvement frameworks and use of clinical innovation with clinical practice and patient education programs, clinical services planning and clinical practice standards.

The Skills and Experience Required

  • Registered with AHPRA and endorsed by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner
  • Demonstrated evidence of integrated clinical knowledge and skills, critical thinking and analysis in daily practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
  • Computer literacy in MS Word/Excel

Essential requirements

  • In accordance with guidelines set by NSW Health, all SVPHS employees are required to have up to date vaccinations before commencement. It is encouraged that you ensure your vaccinations are current ahead of time as you may be requested to provide documentation at interview stage.
  • A National Criminal History Check will be conducted as part of the selection process.
