JOB DESCRIPTION

The Client

Our client is located a short flight from Cairns with a full range of community services including airport, aged and child care, school, playgroup, community centre, splash park, supermarket, restaurant and health clinic.

The Opportunity

To provide support to the Manager of the Chivaree Centre to enable the efficient operation the Centre and delivery of programs and services including;

  • Management of emails and correspondence including filing system for Records and Compliance;
  • Supervise and assist with the Centre’s daily work and activity requirements;
  • Ensure Centre is kept and held to a high standard of cleanliness;
  • Ensure staff complete assigned duties as instructed and as set out in daily roster;
  • Participate in delivery of program services when required and appropriate;
  • Ensure staff adhere to Work Health & Safety requirements of the Centre;
  • Adhere to policies and procedures as well as the National Standards for My Aged Care and the Commonwealth Home Support Program.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have;

  • Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent or working towards required accreditation;
  • Current First Aid and CPR or ability to obtain;
  • Eligible to apply for a Queensland NDIS compliant Yellow Card;
  • Safe Food Handling Supervision;
  • Handling Hazardous Chemicals;
  • A demonstrated commitment to the care and protection of clients;
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal & communication skills, including good verbal, written and negotiation skills;
  • Demonstrated sound ability in time management and organisational skills;
  • Sound problem solving skills;
  • Ability to use initiative and think laterally to meet deadlines and service standards;
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate work of carers;
  • Ability to work within the local government environment and have an understanding of cultural awareness and sensitivity of the local community;
  • Good computer skills including the Microsoft suite of applications;
