The Townsville Hospital and Health Service (HHS) is committed to providing accessible mental health care for consumers in their own communities, close to their home and support networks. A community mental health service is available in the Burdekin (Ayr and Home Hill), Ingham, Charters Towers and on Palm Island.

The Community Mental Health Service provides a specialist and recovery-orientated mental health service to consumers with moderate-to-severe mental health problems and their families. The multi-skilled team work with all ages to promote social and emotional wellbeing. The Charters Towers service area encompasses Charters Towers and the surrounding communities of Hughenden, Richmond, Ravenswood and Greenvale.

The Opportunity

To provide a high-quality specialist, case management mental health service to child and youth persons with serious mental health problems and their families in Charters Towers in keeping with national and state requirements. Support the implementation of the Model of Service Delivery, National and State Mental Health policies and plans through active participation of appropriate service delivery activities.

Work collaboratively with consumers and multi-disciplinary professionals to provide clinical care and a therapeutic environment conducive to the dignity and well-being of consumers and carers within the Mental Health Service.
