And the roles keep rolling in! Right now, we are on the search for a Senior Front End Engineer (React) to lead our client’s expanding development team.
This is a full-time position located in their Brisbane office.
With over 30 years’ experience managing large aged care facilities across Australia, our client is both well-established, well-regarded and in the process of developing some exciting new products! This is where you come in.
In this leadership role, you play an active role in developing highly responsive, robust, and maintainable user interface components using React while also coordinating the back-end development team working in Ruby on Rails. You will take a lead role in making decisions around the reduction of technical debt and using your vast industry experience to bring new features and products to life. - Develop responsive, robust, and maintainable user interface components using React
- Coordinate with the back end development team using Ruby on Rails
- Develop and implement flexible, well structured front end architecture for our new products, including the evaluation of appropriate technical solutions
- Take a lead role in decisions around the reduction of technical debt, and refactoring of existing application code
- Identify technical risks and dependencies with clear and regular communication of these items to management
- Document accurate estimation of work items
- Build robust unit tests for the front end codebase, as part of the development process
- Troubleshoot support issues and bug fixing
- Use consistent standards and adhere to best practice as per the team’s agreed development processes
- Understand user stories for the successful implementation of functionality
- Liaise with end users as required to seek understanding of bugs, demonstrate what you are working on or to clarify user stories
- Opportunities to mentor and guide lower level Developers and Engineers
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, IT or related field
- 10+ years’ experience in software engineering, including headless applications on complex, large-scale projects (REST APIs)
- Proven experience with Docker, Redux, Hooks and Context API will be advantageous
- Strong understanding of good Gitflow practices
- Test-driven development/ behaviour driven development
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong team player with an unwavering commitment to quality
- Natural ability to understand client requirements and how they translate to new application features
- Proven experience with agile development practices
$100k – $140k + super (commensurate with experience)
