Living Your Way's dedicated team of Home Care workers provide quality care and support to older people living in their own homes in the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay Region. Through personal care, housekeeping and lifestyle assistance our teams support our customers to achieve their goals and dreams so that they can continue living their way in their own community.

Living Your Way is currently seeking to fill several casual vacancies for some of our complex need customers on the Sunshine Coast.

  • Our staff are chosen by our customers and work within in a team specific to that customer's needs and plans;
  • Depending on how many hours our staff want to work they may be attached to multiple teams across the Sunshine Coast, and staff can elect to convert to permanent part-time status at any time;
  • Our staff work on a "broken shift" basis across a span of hours during the week. Currently the majority of shifts occur between 8am to 10.30am and 5.30pm to 9pm Mon to Sunday. There are some overnight and 24hr shifts depending on the specific needs of our customers from time to time. Penalty rates apply in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award;
  • In most instances staff work solo with a customer in a customer's home or their local community.

To be successful in our teams you must have :

  • As a minimum a Cert 3 in Aged Care or Individual Support;
  • More importantly a mature and caring attitude (life experience) and an innovative approach to problem solving;
  • Evidence of an understanding of and ability to apply the rights of vulnerable people and uphold their dignity and choice in all aspects of service;
  • A current First Aid Certificate with CPR;
  • A current positive National Police Clearance for working in Aged Care and Disability;
  • A current Qld Driver's license;
  • A reliable and registered motor vehicle;
  • A smart phone with data allowance (for use with our electronic Rostering and Reporting app)

All new staff initially undertake "buddy shifts" where an existing team, and the customer, work with you to ensure your understanding of and success in meeting the needs and goals of our customer.

All new staff receive ongoing mentoring from our Services Manager during the initial weeks of employment and periodic thereafter.

Part-time hours: 10 per week

Salary: $29.76 – $65.48 per hour

Living Your Way works in accordance with the published health directions of the Qld Chief Medical Officer as it applies at any given time.
All staff must practice universal hygiene protocols in all service settings, including the use of PPE as required.

  • Assisting clients with rehabilitative exercises
  • Providing support with academic, social or recreational activities
