JOB DESCRIPTION

About Monash Health

As Victoria’s largest public health service, Monash Health is an impressive organisation of seven public hospitals, 21 community health sites, five aged care facilities, university affiliated international research and tertiary education providers. As a rapidly growing health service, we provide healthcare for the entire lifespan from pre-birth to palliative care and all stages in between.

About the South East Public Health Unit COVID-19 (SEPHU)

The South East Public Health Unit COVID-19 (SEPHU) is a newly established unit working to prevent and respond to the spread of COVID-19 in the south-east suburbs of Melbourne. As part of this strategy, we operate six screening clinics throughout our catchment area and we are now looking to appoint an experienced, committed Nurse Manager to support the operation of this mission critical program.

About the role

Key to the success of this Unit is our ability to maintain community testing in accordance with DHHS guidelines. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, this role is responsible for leading and supporting around 70 staff delivering high quality COVID-19 screening services at our sites. Three of the sites operate in an outdoor drive-through model and from time to time, adverse weather conditions can impact our ability to provide a consistently seamless service.

We anticipate that the role will be “based” at Dandenong Hospital. If appointed, you will be expected to have a visible presence across the six sites to actively lead and support the team. This is a six month fixed term position, working full time hours.

Regular working hours are Monday-Friday, however there may be ad hoc instances requiring you to work a weekend shift.

About you/what you need

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)

  • Demonstrated success as an effective people manager across a varied workforce

  • Effective stakeholder engagement and relationship development skills

  • Highly developed communication skills

  • Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements when warranted

  • Postgraduate nursing and/or management qualifications will be highly regarded.

This newly created position provides a unique opportunity to play a leading role in preventing the spread of COVID-19 through the Victorian community. You will relish the chance to apply your leadership and problem solving skills in a diverse workplace where no two days will be the same.

In return

In addition, you will have access to benefits including salary packaging options that increase your take-home pay, access to onsite staff car parking and gym (only where relevant), uniform (only where relevant) and a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

Monash Health recognises the value of equal employment opportunity and is committed to patient safety and promoting fairness, equity and diversity in the workplace. At Monash Health we are relentless in our pursuit of excellence and work to our six guiding principles.

As part of our selection process, you may be invited by email to participate in an on-camera video interview.

Please apply online through Mercury e-recruit as email applications will not be considered. Current Monash Health employees should apply through Mercury using their Monash Health employee account. Our Recruitment Services team can answer any queries on this matter and can be reached on Ph: 9265 2750 or via email to recruitment@monashhealth.org
