Our CBD based federal government client is seeking to engage multiple Project Officers ideally with experience in grant assessment and / or associated project responsibilities. Roles will be offered at an APS5 level equivalent for a period of 10 weeks commencing 22nd March 2021.
These project based roles will involve:

  • Assessment of applications in the 2020-2021 Aged Care Approvals Round
  • Administration related to Health and Aged Care stakeholder engagement
  • Review of Aged Care Assessment decisions
  • Administration related to implementation of COVID19 policies or other Departmental imperatives

Specific Duties / Responsibilities:
ACAR Assessment

  • Assess and rate applications for Residential Aged Care places and Short Term Restorative Care places in accordance with legislated criteria and Departmental assessment tools, within the required timeframe, and sufficient to inform recommendations made by the ACAR management team;
  • Record objective, clear, concise and evidence-based reasons for assessed ACAR ratings;
  • Act within project probity requirements at all times (including after business hours).

ACAP Reconsideration

  • Resolve requests for reconsideration of ACAP assessments within legislated timeframes
  • Communicate with, and consider evidence provided by, clients, family members, service providers and health professionals against policy settings, legal advice, and guidance materials
  • Access the My Aged Care system to retrieve assessments and related information, and
  • Draft clear, concise and evidence-based written recommendations for delegate consideration.

Health and Aged Care Stakeholder Engagement and Section Business Support

  • Organise, attend and record outcomes of meetings with stakeholders
  • Analyse and synthesise information gathered, including undertaking further research to cross-check information obtained, feed into the policy and program cycle
  • Undertake Business support tasks which may include preparing budget spreadsheets, records management, Section reporting, and other section support.

Workplace Arrangements during COVID19

  • Unless directed otherwise, officers will be required to work in the South Australia State Office located in the CBD.
  • Officers may be required to work from home. Officers must be able to meet information and asset security requirements, and health and safety requirements, if directed to work from home. Some equipment will be provided to work from home, however, officers must have sufficient private, secure internet and phone access available to them from their home environment.

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • Sound judgement and a high degree of confidentiality
  • The ability to liaise with internal staff on matters relating to the work and performance.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with others and build productive relationships to achieve results.
  • Experience in recording and extracting data on associated systems and databases (including EXCEL, ACCESS and Sharepoint).
  • The ability to undertake filing and records management functions ensuring records are accurate, complete and are managed in accordance with departmental policy.
  • A desire to adhere to the APS Values and Code of Conduct.
  • The availability to commit to the entire duration of the 10 week assignment.
  • A current national police clearance or have a preparedness to commence a national police check application upon notification of shortlisted status.
