About the role:

Reporting to the Manager, Health, Safety and Wellbeing, the primary focus is to ensure that Warrigal meets its legal and moral obligations in workplace safety, injury management and supporting staff in an early return to work activities. You will be providing leadership in injury management and WHS along with timely advice to effect improvement in health, safety and wellbeing. You must be able to work autonomously and develop strong working relationships with managers and employees within your portfolio.

There are 2 full time positions available.

What you’ll need (essential criteria):

  • Tertiary qualifications in WHS or related field e.g. Allied Health, Psychology or Nursing with specialist skills in one or more of the following;
    • injury management/return to work
    • wellness programs
    • WHS
    • management and prevention of psychological injury and
    • at least five years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply WHS, WC legislation, to provide specialist advice to managers.
  • Demonstrated experience and track record in injury management and return to work, including caseload management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience undertaking investigations, counselling employees, coaching and guiding managers/supervisors on safety and return to work matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective workplace relationships, with an approachable and proactive style to find innovative solutions to WHS, RTW challenges.
  • High level interpersonal, facilitation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience providing a client focused service and business outcomes while managing multiple projects and issues to deadlines.
  • Ability to analyse data, identify trends and recommend improvement and/or corrective action.
  • Current NSW Driver’s License and ability to travel when needed.
