We are Bold, Imaginative, Respectful, and compassionate.

About the role

In this challenging and rewarding position, the Pastoral Practitioner, in liaison with the Chaplaincy Convenor, is responsible for the provision of professional pastoral care and support that is culturally relevant, age-appropriate, and sensitive to the needs of our residents.

About you

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in Pastoral Care preferably with aging people
  • 400-hour Basic Unit in Clinical Pastoral Education (or be willing to complete this within the first six months of employment)
  • A CPE-equivalent qualification will be considered

You will ‘walk the talk’ of professional boundaries, be comfortable with emails and documentation, and be self-aware in all relationships with residents and their families, staff, pastoral care volunteers, and pastoral care colleagues.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the values of Uniting – Bold, Respectful, Compassionate, Imaginative – with a high level of personal integrity, and a willingness to work within the ethos of the Uniting Church.

Salary is commensurate with the Uniting Church Lay Ministry Agent Guidelines, appropriate to qualifications and experience.

This is an opportunity for you to work for an industry leader in a supportive and friendly work environment, which provides you with continuing education opportunities, and a chance to progress your career.
