Research Coordinator, MCHRI (Monash Centre for Health Research & Implementation)

An experienced, efficient and effective academic research coordinator is sought to support the delivery of MCHRI research programs. This role is pivotal to achieving effective research coordination across grant submissions, ethics, project support and stakeholder engagement. The Research Coordinator will develop and implement research processes across MCHRI to support the achievement of MCHRI strategic objectives and enhance our position as a leading Centre for collaboration and research translation.

About Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation

MCHRI seeks to create, synthesise, implement and translate clinical, health services and public health knowledge, underpinned by cross sector end user engagement, to deliver health impact.

MCHRI is a partnership between Monash Health and Monash University, which will address specific implementation research, translation and engagement needs and build on strategic objectives of both Monash University and Monash Health. It is focused on direct delivery of improved health outcomes across all areas of health. MCHRI brings together clinical researchers, clinicians, health service managers, evidence synthesis and translation experts as well as other research end users, including policy makers, non-government organisations (NGOs) and consumer groups with a common interest in evidence informed best practice in health and in improved health outcomes.

MCHRI has three programs including an:
a) Internal clinical, health services and public health research and translation/ implementation program
b) Clinical research and translation/ implementation methodological platform
c) Capacity building, clinical research and translation /implementation training program

About the Role

The Research Coordinator is a vital position in research support and coordination, to enable delivery of a leading research program focused on delivering improvements in womens health through research and translation.

Primary responsibilities include:

* Support grant applications, abstract and manuscript finalisation and submission, ethics and protocol development
* Assist in survey development
* Support our research leaders in efficient effective delivery of key research outputs
* Support efficient systems and processes in MCHRI research
* Communication and coordination with stakeholders around our strategic direction and activities
* Enhance effective partnership with media, internal and external
* Provide support and advice to the Director and leadership team

About You

The professional research coordinator we are seeking will be experienced (including submitting grants and manuscripts), preferably with relevant tertiary / academic qualifications in a related field or relevant work experience. Proven experience and excellent understanding of the principles, complexities and issues around research, and the understanding around the nuances and complexity of large-scale agile partnerships is pivotal to this role.

Superior interpersonal, written and oral communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to liaise, mediate and influence are essential. The role requires proven project management experience, sound analytical and problem-solving skills, along with demonstrated high-level organisational skills, including the ability to set priorities, manage time, plan work to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously whilst supporting senior academics would be advantageous.
