About the team

As a member of the LiveBetter Transport team, the Transport Liaison Officer will play a key role coordinating safe, comfortable and affordable transport for those who are frail aged, people with a disability and the transport disadvantaged in the Orange area.

About the role

The focus of the Transport Liaison Officer is to schedule efficient allocation of drivers and vehicles to provide smooth and effective transport services through outstanding customer service. Core responsibilities for this position include:

  • Supporting the provision of efficient scheduling of drivers and transport services using Routematch.
  • Co-ordinating transport services to match the needs of our customers and carers to provide excellent customer service.
  • Scheduling drivers to ensure the most efficient day to day operations within the Transport team.
  • Proving a physical presence in the transport office to ensure community awareness and support of the volunteer base.
  • Supporting volunteer recruitment, training and management.
  • Assisting and having a strong commitment and understanding of the frail aged, younger persons with a disability and those that are transport disadvantaged and aim to enhance the quality of life for eligible clients by providing transport and thereby access to medical, social, sporting, cultural and recreational activities.

About you

We would love to hear from you if you are a proactive and highly organised problem solver who thrives in a fast paced office environment. You will also have qualifications in either Administration or Community Services and/or experience in a similar role that involves customer service, administration, scheduling and/or rostering. It would be also be required that you possess the following key skills and experiences:

  • Sound experience in operational planning with particular focus on customer service and scheduling /dispatch of vehicles and drivers.
  • Superior organisational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of electronic client/customer information systems including ability to effectively use Microsoft Office software.
  • Demonstrated high level communication skills, both written and verbal with a high degree of empathy.
  • Ability to work as part of a team whilst enjoying a degree of responsibility in your role.
  • Working with Children check.
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence

Desirable - Knowledge of aged care, disability and community services and of service user/carer for Aboriginal and CALD communities.
