About the Role

You will be responsible for leading and managing the Disability, Aged Care & Mental Health portfolio for the NT. This $35 million portfolio requires energy and passion to drive great outcomes for the people we support, enabling our clients to live life their way. As a key stakeholder for the NT, you will encourage and model collaboration and leadership both internally and externally to deliver high quality services to our participants of the NDIS, people engaging in community aged care services and community mental health supports.

Reporting to the Director - Disability, Aged Care and Mental Health for QLD/NT, you will lead a strong management team with 400 frontline employees across Darwin, Alice Springs, Katherine and Tennant Creek. Your success will be enhanced by the support of well-established business partners who provide strategic and functional expertise to your portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of services to ensure we achieve the business plan
  • Ensure compliance with operational budgets, including program growth and business development activities
  • Monitor, coach, support, motivate and develop team members to enable them to deliver to the best of their ability
  • Significant focus on improving outcomes and supporting clients
  • Meet relevant statutory regulations, funding agreements and accreditation standards
  • Ensure all services and program activities operate consistently and ethically
  • Model and implement a culture of continuous improvement that will improve the customer and staff experience
  • Maintain and develop positive working relationships with key stakeholders and partners, including funding and accreditation bodies
  • Develop and implement business development and growth strategies within the region and in accordance with the LWB Strategic Plan and business plans
  • Carry out delegated duties for authorising and reviewing business decisions, resolving complex issues and managing risks

Skills & Experience

To succeed, you will possess a track record of operational leadership gained from a disability services, or related care setting and one which is focused on complex service delivery. You will also possess:

  • Significant experience managing programs that support vulnerable people
  • Sound expertise in budgets, acquittals, and financial management
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and building high performing teams
  • Higher order problem resolution, lateral thinking and creative skills or advanced and proven problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically and critically
  • Demonstrable commitment to Reconciliation and building cultural competency to deliver services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks and the current reform environment for areas of business responsibility
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in field such as Health Services, Social Work or related discipline
  • Current Driver’s Licence
