The Support Services function at Monash Health is vital to help us deliver excellent patient care in our hospitals, residential and primary care sites. Our commitment to quality improvement is unwavering and we are now looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Support Services professional to ensure that our services consistently meet or exceed our expectations in relation to both quality standards and operational practices.


About the Role


The key responsibility of this role is to ensure the quality and operational requirements for Support Services are met in accordance with Monash Health’s expectations as well as standards mandated by the Department of Health and Human Services. Developing and implementing quality activities and associated improvement actions will contribute to our achieving accreditation, next scheduled for June 2021.


Specific key result areas for the role include:



  • Compliance with relevant quality standards

  • Achievement of service key performance indicators and accreditation

  • Development, implementation and completion of quality activities and reports

  • Delivery of high quality education programs

  • Management of some contracted services

  • Project management of some Support Services initiatives


In addition, you will have the opportunity to further hone your leadership skills through relieving both planned and unplanned leave within the Support Services senior leadership team from time to time.


The role will be appointed on a full time, permanent basis and travel will be required across Monash Health sites.


About You


With significant experience managing support services within a large, complex organisation, you can demonstrate a detailed knowledge of cleaning services and industry best practice, and of primary emergency responses. You have a sound knowledge of infection control requirements as they relate to the healthcare setting as well as high level project and change management skills and you have led quality and training initiatives in healthcare cleaning.


Along with well-developed communication skills, you can also demonstrate:



  • Excellent knowledge of safe work practices and accreditation standards for healthcare and aged care facilities;

  • A working knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and codes applicable to cleaning services;

  • Ability to investigate incidents and provide feedback; and

  • An understanding of quality systems and processes, including inspection and auditing skills.


From time to time, and with reasonable notice, you may be required to participate in a roster operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week


A current Driver’s Licence is required. Achievement of Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or equivalent is desirable.
