Full Time – 38 Hours per week

Colac Area Health is seeking a Nursing Unit Manager to provide holistic person centred care, operational excellence and supervision to staff. You will manage the day-to-day clinical, hospitality, administration, maintenance and lifestyle operations of the site. Yes, it's a big job but we believe it will be equally as rewarding. You'll be well supported with a team of clinical carers who will benefit from your strong leadership and motivational style. Support will also come from working closely with the Executive Director Nursing and community support team in relation to quality and compliance management.

About the role

Colac Area Health Aged Care Unit provides a holistic, innovative and resident-centred approach to aged care. It is an incredibly exciting phase for the business and a fun and rewarding place to be!

As the Nurse Unit Manager you will be responsible for:

  • the day to day operations and supporting staff to deliver person centered care for residents who are accessing either Transitional Aged Care (TACP) or Commonwealth Home Support Service (CHSP) services.
  • developing and monitoring an agreed suite of key performance indicators (KPI’s) and supporting staff in the delivery of care to residents accessing Aged Care Services.

The vacancy is open to Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens who hold a valid New Zealand passport, Australian permanent residents and those non-residents deemed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to be eligible to work in Australia only.

About You

  • Current Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as Registered Nurse 
  • Post Graduate Studies in Management and Leadership
  • Previous experience and a passion for Aged Care Nursing specialty
  • Minimum 5 years post graduate experience
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
  • Ability to use information technology in care and management
  • Skilled in leadership and change management
