you were at the forefront of industry change

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable General Manager who will be responsible for the operational management and performance of a portfolio of regions that have a mixture of home care and residential aged care services. This mixed portfolio reflects a specific intent to recognise that these services cater for the same customer and to ensure seamless operation and co-operation between these services.

In this position you will be required to lead and embed change and will have the freedom to think and perform things differently as the organisation prepares itself for sectoral change. You will be expected to provide leadership that empowers your service teams to create an environment where our Seniors customers can live well, whether in their home or in our environments. A visible and engaging leader, you will support, grow and mentor your service leaders at all levels to ensure that a positive work culture, outstanding customer centricity and service and empowered and engaged teams are the norm in each service.

You will be accountable for operational and quality performance and deliverables within your regions and in turn you will hold your regional Managers and Service Managers to account while providing them with coaching and support. Your role will include executive leadership for major organisational projects, driving improvements to service delivery, productivity and customer experience. Working closely with your fellow General Manager and the Seniors Care Executive group you help set and deliver the agenda for excellence and performance in home care and residential aged care within Churches of Christ in Queensland.

Key to delivering this agenda will be maintaining and expanding on internal and external relationships with stakeholders with a focus on ensuring that everyone is aligned to delivering what is in the best interests of Seniors living well and the organisation's sustainability underpinned by the Churches of Christ Way and the Positive Well Being model.

Based in Kenmore, the role will have a portfolio that requires regular travel to visit your services.

About you

You are a dynamic, confident leader who thrives on making a difference in the lives of seniors. You need to be demonstrably capable of leading and embedding change while bringing your teams and stakeholders along on the journey. You build and empower teams and cultivate customer centric, future focused leaders.

Focused on delivering "the great", you can identify "the good" and know how to inspire, support and lead improvement to make it great. You are also comfortable with dealing with poor delivery and performance. Energetic and engaging you will create momentum and delivery around improved customer experience and meeting the requirements of our legislative compliance accountabilities.

This is a complex, changing operational environment and so you must personally be comfortable with that. Most importantly, you look forward to the challenge of providing strategic leadership and influencing and leading change to continuous delivery on the commitment to enabling senior Australians to live well in their homes or in our environments.

Your experience and qualifications for the role should include:
  • Degree qualification in health, aged care, community services, or health service management or similar;
  • Post graduate management qualification(s) or equivalent is a positive;
  • Considerable experience in a senior management role with financial responsibility in a health or aged care organisation;
  • Applied knowledge of care needs and challenges facing aged care;
  • Applied knowledge of relevant legislation, compliance requirements, and government policies that impact on aged care;
  • Current driver's licence and National Police Certificate.
Crucially, you align and can demonstrate our organisational values of modelling unconditional love; continual improvement, mutual trust and wise stewardship.

Imagine working for us

Our values encourage us to be accepting of differences and embrace all. Our size and variety offer you real choice and opportunities to grow your career. You'll also find we offer a family friendly work culture.
