Rostering Officer

Bissy Care has an exciting opportunity for a Rostering Officer who will be planning rosters for our home care support team. Using your communication skills, you will liaise with staff and managers to ensure core staffing numbers are maintained and client needs are met. You will also be responsible for working with the accounts / payroll team and occasionally assisting with invoicing and payroll queries. The capability to understand client’s needs and adapt your interpersonal skills in a diverse environment is highly desirable along with attention to detail and pride in your work.

The Role

The role will require you to have efficient skills in the rostering of staff including backfilling shifts, obligating employee’s contracted hours and efficient effective coordination of participant’s services.

About The Role

  • Responsible for building and maintaining effective and accurate rosters
  • Variety of administrative tasks You will be an important key team member helping to deliver a variety of services to meet our client’s unique circumstances and needs ranging from entry level through to complex health needs.
  • Coordinate cover for all shift vacancies due to planned or unplanned leave
  • Create, edit and maintain rosters for a team of disability /community care staff in accordance with client individual plans
  • Manage and maintain rostering systems to improve Customer service and deliver best practice care and services.
  • Assist payroll / accounts staff
  • Work between Monday to Friday on a rotating roster. Opening hours are between 7am-6pm (some weekends required)

ABOUT YOU / Key Skills
  • Certificate III in Business Administration or similar qualification will be highly regarded
  • High level of computer and IT skills required
  • You will need 1 – 2 years background of rostering experience within the health care, community services or disability industry.
  • You will be responsible for the day-to-day rostering of nurses, home care & support workers including 24/7 Teams to meet client needs.
  • Knowledge of the SCHADS Award, Nurses Award, and payroll desirable
  • Knowledge of NDIS desirable
  • Knowledge of invoicing and XERO desirable
  • Have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite & Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer service focus
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task, prioritise workloads and work effectively
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and accurate data entry skills
  • The role also requires administration work including filing, data input, and general office up-keep.
  • Ability to work within a close, friendly team as well as autonomously
  • Current National Police Clearance
