    We are looking for a Wellness & Lifestyle Assistant to join our Residential Care team at Carmelite, located in Myrtle Bank, SA.

    About The Role

    Our lifestyle team at Carmelite runs a diverse and dynamic program with an active ageing focus and includes a specific program for our Memory Support Unit.

    Enhancing the lives of our residents, you will assist the Wellness and Lifestyle Coordinator to ensure the provision of effective and appropriate recreational and leisure activities.

    Understanding and communicating their needs, you will contribute to individualised, person-centred activity programs that allow residents to continue to enjoy independence, dignity and privacy.

    From outings and morning teas, to special functions, your work with colleagues, volunteers and relatives of our residents will extend the opportunities for a healthy, fulfilling lifestyle.

    Experienced in geriatric nursing or therapy and prepared to build your skills, you will be able to demonstrate your passion for customer care and effective communication.

    Committed to improvement in quality of care, you will enjoy the challenge of working with minimal supervision, engaging with your team and pulling together to achieve excellence.

    You hold a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent. Experience working with residents with Dementia will be highly regarded.

    All Southern Cross Care employees require a current Police Certificate for the purpose of Aged Care.
