Your new team

  • Committed to the provision of high quality patient care and maintains an ongoing commitment teaching and quality of service

  • Consultative service for other Units within The Royal Melbourne Hospital and VCCC precinct.

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to

  • Oversee the management of daily activities of the Respiratory laboratory, including the preparation of staff rosters and coordination of resources.

  • Ensure delivery of services is aligned with the service objectives of the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Disorders Medicine

  • Development and maintenance of policies, procedures and plans for current and future sleep services

  • Develop and monitor quality management system

  • Participate and co-operate in consultative processes to improve health and safety

  • Manage staff through effective recruitment, retention recognition and development strategies, ensure effective consultation and communication processes are in place

  • Provide leadership and support with professional training and development opportunities

Your Contribution

  • Degree in Science or Applied Science majoring in, Physiology, Biomedical, Psychophysiology, Psychology or equivalent fields

  • Meet the requirements for membership of the Thoracic Society

  • Research and teaching experience with a reputation at national and/or international level

  • Extensive experience working in a Respiratory laboratory

  • Extensive experience in a senior leadership role, with strong and effective communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team

  • Ability and willingness to learn new techniques as they relate to scientific discovery
