About Central Gippsland Health

Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.

CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.

CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.

About the Role

With the grow of our services being delivered, we are seeking applications from qualified Occupational Therapists to works across adult and/or paediatric settings. The opportunities are a mix of permanent/fixed term with both part-time and full-time positions available to join our Occupational Therapy Department and Allied Health team at Central Gippsland Health.

The positions will offer the opportunity to work within the inpatient, outpatient and community settings working with an adult and/or paediatric caseload. Applicants with experience in paediatrics, would also have the opportunity to provide a capacity building approach to kindergarten and school teachers through the School Readiness Funding (SRF) and Speech in Schools (SpIS) funding models.

Fixed term positions will be until the end of September 2021, with the potential to be extended.


  • Manage a clinical caseload which may encompass the acute, rehabilitation, community and aged care settings, with option to include a specialist case load across paediatrics, rehab, community, hands or home modifications
  • Support a range of student placements as a lead supervisor
  • Provide leadership as a more senior staff member, including acting as a clinical supervisor and mentor for Gr 1 OT's and AHA's
  • Actively contribute to the quality improvement and professional development programs

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
