Formed in 1998, Barwon Health is one of the largest and most comprehensive regional health services in Australia, providing care at all stages of life and circumstance. Health services available through Barwon Health cover the full spectrum from primary care, community services, aged care, rehabilitation, mental health, emergency and acute care. With the exception of neurosurgery and transplantation, virtually all other specialties are available through University Hospital.

About the facility

The environmental services teams’ primary role is to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff, in accordance with Victorian Healthcare Cleaning Standards and the National Safety and Quality Health Services Standards.

About the role

This position is responsible for the administration of Environmental Services activities across University Hospital Geelong. As the successful applicant you will;

• Co-ordinate the ongoing availability, advance allocation, and training of staff within Barwon Health Environmental Services; to enable the delivery of cleaning, housekeeping, and waste management to a standard commensurate with applicable Aged Care Standards and the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care Standards.
• Oversee, control and coordinate the staff management and human resource functions; including use of online systems related to advance rosters, payroll, on boarding, performance review, and mandatory training of staff within Barwon Health Environmental Services.
• Engage with senior staff to ensure appropriate conduct, behaviours, and communication occurs at all time. Undertake timely conflict resolution and performance management in consultation with Workforce Partner as required.

Please note this position has the possibility for extension.
