The Royal Melbourne Hospital

As one of the largest health services in Victoria, and a team of more than 10,000 strong, we provide a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services; as well as rehabilitation, aged care, outpatient and community programs. We are a designated state-wide provider for services including trauma, and we lead centres of excellence for tertiary services in several key specialties including neurosciences, nephrology, oncology, cardiology and virtual health.

The Royal Melbourne Hospital will be overseeing several vaccination clinics both onsite and externally. Our large external clinics will provide vaccinations for community members meeting the Government’s prioritisation for vaccination. This recruitment is to support the external vaccination clinics. Staff will need to be up-to-date and competent with the management of allergy, anaphylaxis and other potential post vaccination complications.

We are seeking applications from advanced trainees (Fellows) and those with fellowships of relevant colleges, including general practice, physician, intensive care, emergency medicine and anaesthetics to join our vaccination teams. Clinics will be supported by senior medical staff with expertise in immunology and vaccination.

Please ensure you provide your availability (including days of the week), as part of your application.

Your contribution:

  • Pre-vaccine assessment and counselling

  • Post-vaccine assessment and management of people having an immediate adverse reaction following vaccination

  • Escalating concerns to the medical supervisor in a safe and time efficient manner

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work in a busy vaccination clinic

  • Effectively work in a team and independently

Here at The RMH we strive for excellence with a strong purpose that defines the work we do for our community – Advancing health for everyone, every day. This is the Melbourne Way.
